Emergency Lighting

Emergency lighting systems are installed in buildings to provide illumination and to identify escape routes and emergency exits in the event of a power failure.  Emergency lighting schemes fall into one of the following categories:

Non-maintained:

  • The emergency lights will only illuminate in the event of a mains failure

Maintained:

  • The emergency lights are illuminated at all times using the same lamp for both normal and emergency operation

Sustained:

  • The emergency lights are fitted with two lamps or two sets of lamps, one of which operates on mains 230V AC supply, the other which operates from the battery supply in the event of mains failure.

With a wealth of experience in this area, Scotshield Fire & Security are able to provide a full range of services in accordance with the current standards and Industry Codes of Practice.
