Lone Workers are people who spend some or all of their working hours on their own. This may include employees who work on their own away from their normal place of work such as doctors, nurses, cleaners, social workers, security guards, engineers and trades people.
Employers have a legal obligation under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 to undertake a risk assessment to identify hazards faced by lone workers to ensure appropriate measures are in place to safeguard them. Legislation was introduced in April 2008 which exposes organisations to prosecution where a safety failure is the cause of a work-related death.
Scotshield Fire & Security monitor lone worker alarms 24 hours a day via our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).
